AIR MOVEMENT & HEATING GROUP, BIG ASS FANS NAMES JIM MOAN AS VICE PRESIDENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D) AND CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (CTO)
November 7, 2023 - Lexington, KY - Big Ass Fans, world-class leader in the air movement and heating group announces that it has named Jim Moan as Vice President of Research and Development (R&D) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this new position that will drive technological quality and innovation strategy to an elevated visionary standard, Jim will help drive excellence as the organization continues its mission to make the world safer, healthier and more productive.

Jim brings 25+ years of experience with positions of increasing responsibility at Lutron Electronics, Eaton Corporation, Signify, and Cooper Lighting Solutions where he was responsible for the end-to-end design process leading and collaborating with teams on three continents, encompassing diverse aspects like electrical and mechanical product design, device firmware, bus protocols, edge computing, IP networking, on-premise and cloud applications, mobile apps, and system architecture and is named in 13 patents. Jim developed the Lutron Grafik Eye Qs and Cooper Lighting Wavelinx product lines in his tenure at these companies.

Jim holds a Bachelor's in Engineering and a Master of Science degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, complemented by additional accreditations from Rice University and Georgia Tech. Beyond his professional commitments, Jim actively contributes to the engineering community through talent development, mentorship, guest lecturing, and participation in industry-standard working committees.
